Connecting Your Router and Applying Power  
Configuring Your Router’s Internet Connection  
)NSTALLATION 'UIDE  
1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable that came with your router into a LAN port on  
the router, and the other end into the Ethernet port of your computer.  
1. From the Ethernet connected computer, open a Web browser.

2. Connect to the router by typing http://192.168.0.1 or www.routerlogin.com in the  
address field of your browser.  
Start Here  
Your wireless 3G USB modem (sold separately) must be activated before you install the  
router. For a list of compatible wireless USB modems, see the NETGEAR website at  
http://www.netgear.com/3G. To configure the router during installation, you need a  
computer with an Ethernet port. Your computer must be configured with DHCP (most PCs  
are).  
The Setup Wizard Welcome screen displays.  
Connecting the Wireless 3G USB Modem  
1. At the location where you will install the router, connect your activated 3G USB  
modem to your computer. Follow the instructions from your Internet Service Provider  
(ISP) to connect to the Internet from your computer.  
2. Plug in the power adapter to your router, and push the Power button on the rear panel.  
2. Verify that you can connect to the Internet. Then, close the software that you used to  
connect to the Internet.  
Note: If you connect to the router after initial configuration, a log in prompt displays. See  
3. Place the router in its vertical stand,  
and adjust the antenna.  
3. Click Next, and the Setup Wizard configures your router’s Internet connection.  
For best performance, place the router  
in a location where your 3G USB  
modem Internet connection is strong,  
such as on a desk near a window  
instead of on the floor.  
When the Internet connection is working, a Connection Success message displays.  
4. To proceed, click Next. See“Configuring Your Wireless Network” on the other side of  
this document.  
Note: If your Internet connection is not working, see the “Troubleshooting” section on the  
other side of this document.  
4. Connect your wireless 3G USB  
modem with activated Internet  
service to the USB port on the rear  
panel of the router using a USB cable  
or docking station.  
3. Verify that the following LEDs on the front of the router light up:  
Power. Power is supplied to the router.  
LAN. Your computer is securely connected to this LAN port on the router.  
USB. Your wireless USB modem is securely connected to the router.  
5. If your wireless 3G USB modem has  
a separate antenna, adjust it as  
needed.  
Wireless. There is a wireless signal from the router.  
Internet. This LED is red because the router is not connected to the  
Internet.
