side-by-side installation. They are equipped with
a heating system to eliminate condensation when
refrigerators or freezers are installed side-by-side.
Installing this refrigerator-freezer next to any other
refrigerator or freezer can cause condensation or
cause damage to the Liebherr refrigerator-freezer.
Failure to follow these instructions could
result in death or serious injury.
Customer’s Responsibility
A 115 Volt, 60 Hz, 15 Amp fused electrical supply
is required. We recommend using a dedicated
circuit for this appliance to prevent electrical
overload. Follow the National Electrical Code and
local codes and ordinances when installing the
receptacle.
Electrical Requirement
If codes require a separate grounding circuit to be
used, have a qualified electrician install the circuit.

!
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD!
Venting the Appliance
• Do not ground to a gas pipe. Check
with a qualified electrician if you
are not sure the appliance is properly
grounded. Do not have a fuse in the
neutral or grounding circuit.
DO NOT restrict the air flow. Air flow must be
provided for the appliance to operate. The factory
2
air vents provide 31 square inches (200 cm ) of air
flow per appliance. If you are replacing the factory
air vents with an overlay, the air flow must be the
same or greater than the factory air vents.
Failure to follow these instructions
could result in death or serious injury.

DANGER
!
Do not operate the appliance in the presence of
explosive fumes.
Disposal of Old Appliance
Be sure to follow your local requirements for dis-
posal of appliances. Discarded appliances can be
dangerous.
In the event of a power outage, minimize
opening the appliance door(s). Protect the food
either by placing dry ice on top of the packages
or using a local frozen food locker if the power
failure is of a long duration. Do not attempt to re-
freeze any frozen food that has thawed out.
Risk of child entrapment. Before you dis-
card your old refrigerator or freezer:
• Be sure to follow your local require-
ments for disposal of appliances. Dis-
carded appliances can be dangerous.
To avoid possible injury, only adjust an empty
shelf. Do not attempt to adjust a shelf with food
on it.
• Remove the doors.
• Leave the shelves in place so that chil-
dren may not easily climb inside.
Wait 30 minutes to 1 hour after installation
before you plug in the appliance. This allows
the refrigerant and system lubrication to reach
equilibrium.
• Cut off the prongs from the power cable
plug and discard them.
• Cut off the power cable from the dis-
carded refrigerator. Discard separately
from the refrigerator.

The right environment for your wines
A vine is an extremely sensitive plant. From the time it is planted
to its maturing period and the time the grapes are harvested
and the wine is made, it is dependent on three factors: light, air
humidity and ambient temperature. This sensitivity continues
even once the wine is bottled.
To allow the flavour of the wine to fully develop or to preserve
the excellent aroma, the wine has to be stored perfectly - and
your wine cooler zone offers the best conditions for this.
W Press SuperFrost button for approx. 5 secs - the SuperFrost
button flashes - the display shows c for child-proof lock.
Note: the value to be altered flashes.
W Select the required function by pressing the Up/Down but-
ton:
c = child-proof lock or

Storing wine
button briefly:
If you are storing wine for long periods of time, it should be
stored at a temperature of between 46°F (8°C) and 57°F (12°C).
This is the temperature wine cellars are kept at, and it is just
right to allow wine to mature properly.
• For c = child-proof lock,
press the Up/Down button to select
c1 = child-proof lock on or
c0 = child-proof lock off and
acknowledge with the SuperFrost button. When
the symbol 6is lit, the child-proof lock is activated.
Select which wine cooler compartment you would like to store
red or white wine in, as both compartments can be cooled
separately.
Try to store bottles of the same sort of wine next to each other
on the same shelf so as to avoid having to move other bottles to
access the bottles you want to remove, as wine should not be
moved during storage if at all possible.
• For h = brightness,
press Up/Down button to select
h1= minimum to
h5 = maximum brightness and
acknowledge with the SuperFrost button.
34 Bordeaux bottles (0.75 l) can be stored. 15 bottles in the up-
per compartment and 19 bottles in the lower compartment.
• For 0 = unit of temperature,
press the Up/Down button to select

Failure to follow these instructions may re-
sult in minor or moderate injury or damage.
Replacing the
activated
charcoal filter
The way in which wines continue to mature depends on the
ambient conditions. The quality of the air is therefore decisive
for preserving the wine. To guarantee an optimal throughput
of air, an activated charcoal filter is fitted in each wine cooler
compartment. Please refer to appliance overview for position,
figure A.
We recommend that you replace the filter once a year. Filters
can be obtained from your dealer.
Changing the filter:
W Take the filter by the handle. Turn it
1
90° to the left or right and remove.
W Inserting the filter: Insert with the han-
2
dle in a vertical position. Turn it 90° to
the left or right until it clicks into place.

Removing drawers, figure G1: Pull for-
ward until the drawer stops and lift out.
W Always store identical food items together to
avoid the door being open for unnecessarily
long periods and to save energy.
W For small amounts of frozen food, it is normally sufficient to
switch on SuperFrost 6 hours beforehand. For the maximum
amount (see freezing capacity on the type plate) you will
need to switch it on 24 hours beforehand.
W Then place the fresh food inside the freezer, preferably in the
top drawers.

W Do not exceed storage times given.
W Thawing: Only take out as much food as is immediately
If freezing the maximum quantity of food, do not use the
drawers; instead, place the wrapped food directly on the
shelves. Once the food is frozen you can load it into the
drawers.
The SuperFrost function switches off automatically. De-
pending on the quantity of food placed in the freezer, this will
normally be between 30 and max. 65 hours. The freezing
process is now complete, and the freezer will switch back to
normal energy-saving operation.

Notes on freezing and storage
W Items suitable for freezing: meat, game, poultry, fresh fish,
vegetables, fruit, dairy products, bread, baked goods, pre-
cooked meals.
Not suitable: lettuce, radishes, grapes, whole apples and
pears, fatty meat.
W Pack frozen food in standard freezer bags or reusable plas-
tic, metal or aluminium containers.
Use frozen food within the recommended period.
The numbers between the symbols indicate the storage period
in months for different kinds of frozen foods.
Storage times given are guide times for food frozen at home.
Whether or not the lower or upper value is applicable depends
on the food quality and how it was processed prior to freezing.
The lower values always apply to food with a high fat content.
W Do not allow fresh food which is to be frozen to come into
contact with food already frozen. Always keep packs dry in
order to avoid them sticking together.
W Always write the date and contents on the pack and do not
exceed the stated storage time for the food. This prevents
any risk of quality impairment.

W Pack food which you are freezing yourself in quantities ap-
propriate to your household. To ensure that the food freezes
right through quickly, the following quantities should not be
exceeded per package:
poultry
vegetables
fruit
beef/veal
-
-
fruit, vegetables: up to 2.2 lb (1 kg);
meat: up to 5.5 lb (2.5 kg).
Freezer tray
W Blanch vegetables after washing and cutting them. (Add to
boiling water for 2-3 minutes, remove and quickly cool down
in cold water. If you blanch with a steamer or microwave
oven, please observe the relevant operating instructions.)
W Do not salt or season fresh food or blanched vegetables be-
fore freezing. Only lightly salt and season other food. Some
spices can alter their flavour intensity.
W Do not freeze bottles and cans which contain carbonated drinks
as they might burst. Drinks can be cooled down quickly, but take
the bottles out of the freezer compartment after an hour at the
most.
This is used for gently freezing berries, herbs, vegetables and
other small items and prevents them from sticking together.
Items being frozen will largely retain their shape, and it will be
easier to remove exactly the right quantity later on.
W Spread the items out loosely on the tray, gure H.
W Suspend the freezer tray in one of the top drawers. Freeze
for 10 to 12 hours, then transfer to a freezer bag or container
and put in a drawer.
W To defrost, spread the frozen items out loosely.
W Storage: Each drawer and shelf can take up to 55 lb (25 kg)
frozen food.
W If you want to use the maximum net capacity, you can re-
move the drawers and store items directly on the shelves.

FREEZER COMPARTMENT CLEANING
W We recommend using a soft cloth and an all-purpose cleaner
Cleaning
with a neutral pH value. Only use food compatible cleaning
and care agents on the inside of the appliance.
W Use a commercially available stainless-steel cleaning agent
for stainless-steel appliances.
Notes on defrosting
The NoFrost system automatically defrosts the appliance.
-
In order to achieve best possible protection, apply a stain-
less-steel care agent uniformly in grinding direction after
cleaning. Points which are darker at the start and a more
intensive coloration of the stainless-steel surface are normal.
Do not use abrasive sponges or scourers, do not use con-
centrated cleaning agents and never use cleaning agents
containing sand, chloride or acid or chemical solvents, as
these would damage the surfaces and could cause corro-
sion.
Wine cooler zone
The wine cooler compartment defrosts automatically. The water
that forms on the rear wall wil evaporate through the compres-
sor heat.
-
Make sure the defrost water can flow freely through the drain.
W Wipe the cover strip's rubber lip with a damp cloth and a
cleaning agent with a neutral pH value.
W Do not allow cleaning water to run down the drain gulley or to
penetrate the ventilation grilles or electrical components. Dry
the appliance.
Freezer compartment
Any moisture arising collects on the glass shelves and freezes,
and is periodically defrosted and evaporated.
-
Do not damage or remove the type plate on the inside of the
appliance. It is very important for servicing purposes.
The automatic defrosting system keeps the freezer frost-free
and eliminates the time and effort spent on defrosting manually.
W The dust should be removed from the
wine cooler / freezer unit and heat
exchanger - metal grid at the back of
the appliance - once a year. Dust de-
posits increase energy consumption.
W Ensure that none of the wires or other
components are dislodged, bent or
damaged.
WARNING
!
Cleaning
Always switch off the appliance, discon-
nect the power cord or turn off the circuit
breaker before cleaning.
W Then connect/switch on the appliance and start to insert the
food to be frozen as the temperature drops.
Do not use steam cleaning equipment.
Failure to follow these instructions may
result in death or serious injury.
If the appliance is to be left switched off for any length of
time, empty the appliance, disconnect from the power source,
clean as described above and leave the door open so as to
avoid odours.
W Clean the outer walls, inside and equipment, except the
wooden grid shelves, by hand with lukewarm water and a
little detergent. Because of the risk of injury and damage
to the appliance, steam cleaning equipment should not be
used.
W Never clean the glass door* with abrasive agents or rough
cloths. The surfaces of the door and frame could become
matt and scratched. We recommend using a commercially
available glass cleaner. When cleaning the stainless-steel
frame, ensure that no cleaning agent comes into contact with
the glass surface and plastic frame. The surfaces could be
scratched.
Replacing the interior light
You can change the light yourself. The required lighting ele-
ment 2, dissipator with light emitting diode (LED), is available
from your dealer.
Changing the light:
W Switch off the appliance. Discon-
nect the power cord or turn off
the circuit breaker.
W Press the bulb cover 1against
the compartment roof 1 and
release by pulling forwards 2.
W Unscrew the lighting element 2,
dissipator with LED, and loosen
the cable connector 3.
W Re-assemble with new lighting
element 2, working in reverse
order.

ICEMAKER
To turn OFF
To Start the IceMaker
The IceMaker will only work if the combined winecooler-freezer
is connected to the electrical outlet. It will only make ice cubes
if the freezer compartment is operating and if the minimum
freezer temperature is 14°F (-10°C).
If you do not need any ice cubes, the IceMaker can
be turned off independently of the freezer
compartment.
The IceMaker is in the top left drawer in the freezer compart-
ment of the combined winecooler-freezer.You can identify this
drawer by its labeling “IceMaker.”
Press the “ON/OFF” button for approximately 1 second so
the control lamp goes out.
To turn ON
Note
-
-
Pull out the drawer.
If the IceMaker is turned off, the empty drawer can also be
used to freeze and store food.
Press the “ON/OFF” button so the control lamp
comes on (Figure I).
To make ice cubes
After you start the icemaker for the first time it may take up to
24 hours before the first ice cubes are ready.
-
Close the drawer.
Note
The IceMaker can only make ice cubes if the
drawer is completely closed.
Note
The first three batches of ice must not be consumed or used.
This will help ensure that the water supply lines are free of
contaminants.
The production capacity depends on the temperature inside the
freezer compartment. The lower the temperature, the more ice
can be produced over a period of time.
The ice cubes fall out of the icemaker into the drawer. When the
ice reaches a certain level in the drawer, the appliance stops
producing ice automatically.
Figure I
If you need a large quantity of ice you can change out the dra-
wer to the right with the complete “IceMaker” drawer. When you
close the drawer the icemaker will immediately start production.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Your appliance is designed and manufactured for a long life span and reliable operation.
If a malfunction nonetheless occurs during operation, check whether it is due to an operating error. Please note that even during
the warranty period the resultant servicing costs in this case will have to be borne by the owner.
You may be able to rectify the following faults by checking the possible causes yourself:
Malfunction
Possible cause and remedy
Appliance does not work, display is off
-
-
-
Is the appliance switched on properly?
Is the power cord properly inserted in the socket?
Is the circuit breaker or fuse in operating condition?
The interior light does not come on
-
-
-
Is the winecooler compartment turned ON?
Has the door been open for more than 15 minutes?
The bulb is defective. Change the bulb as described in Interior light.
Loud running noise
-
-
Is the appliance standing firmly on the floor, or does the compressor cause nearby items of furniture or objects to vibrate? If
necessary, move the appliance slightly, align by adjusting the adjustable feet, or move bottles and containers apart.
Burbling noises are normal. These are caused by the refrigerant flowing round the refrigerant circuit.
A short clicking sound: This will be heard whenever the refrigeration unit (the motor) switches on or off automatically.
Motor noise: This will be slightly louder for a brief period when the refrigeration unit switches on. The refrigerating capacity will
increase when the SuperFrost function is activated, fresh food has just been placed in the appliance or the door has been left
open for a while.
The audible warning signal sounds, the temperature is not cold enough
-
-
-
Have you put too much fresh food into the freezer without activating SuperFrost? (See "SuperFrost")
Does the door close properly?
Is the appliance sufficiently well ventilated?
Clear ventilation grilles if necessary.
-
-
Is the ambient temperature too hot?
(See "Safety regulations")
Has the appliance been opened too often or left open
too long?
-
-
If applicable, wait until the appliance reaches the required temperature itself.
Please note that, as can happen with other forms of storage, slight mould may form depending on the type of adhesive on the
labels. This can be rectified by carefully cleaning any adhesive residues off the bottles.
